I sometimes complain that I feel like a hamster on a wheel.
Trapped in endless cycle of school runs, and shopping and cooking and laundry and cleaning and tidying. Last night after a particularly tedious day my husband listended patiently and then said
"the hamster runs on the wheel because he likes it. He is not trappped. He can get off anytime and do something else."
And so I have resolved to get off and do something else for at least part of every day even if it's only a cup of tea with a friend. I do feel guilty when I moan because as my family point out I am the one who cares most about all these things.
wow, I feel exactly the same way. But I might argue that the hamster is trapped--in a cage! We are not, but the home can start to feel like one if we are not careful. I think a cup of tea is just the thing!

tea is definitely just the thing. Couldn't live without it!
